A lawsuit filed against Woodland Park Zoo by animal rights activists hoping to have Bamboo the elephant moved to a sanctuary in Tennessee was dismissed Friday by a state Superior Court judge.

Lucy the elephant is euthanized
The medical staff at the Milwaukee County Zoo euthanized Lucy, the 46-year-old African elephant, earlier this morning, zoo officials reported.
